Cherie Sears talk
This year’s theme BE THE INSPIRATION
DG Cherie' gave an interesting and inspirational talk to our club to get us ready to meet the new Rotary Year.
She started her talk by congratulating the Washington Club on our many events and the good that we do both locally and around the world. She listed most of our projects and was highly complimentary.
Still, there is much to be done.
  • Piority #1 - "End Polio" - We are close but it's not over until it's finished.
  • Prioity #2 - Increased Membership. More Rotarians means more good is done and more people's lives are made better, safer and healthier.
Right now, our District has 1030 members, but need 1100 by Sept 1 to maintain our District 7330 statues.  Otherwise, we  will be merged with District 7300 (Pittsburgh) to form District 7305.  Tough project but it can be done (2 new members net per club)
No matter what happens ... Be the Inspiration – Think positive
Also, our  Zone 29 will be eliminated and the Districts will be assigned to new Zones. We will be part of Zone that runs all the way to the Carribean. That means that Zone meetings might be  a lot more inviting.
PRFT Stephanie Urchick will be the new Zone Director
Rotary International exploring flexibility for meetings so use your imagination. We don’t have to meet every week, consider satellites meeting, pizza club, evenings
Cherie' was in a club in March and they held an evening pot luck at a member’s art gallery. No formal agenda. It was well attended.
