President Bill Price welcomed the scholarship recipients and their invited guests, parent and school officials to out annual Scholar Luncheon.

The David Scarborough Achievement Scholarship: 

Given in honor of a former Rotarian and former Athletic Director at W&J. This is yet to be determined and is done by W&J. They are to notify us in order to present to a recent graduate.

 

CLUB BUSINESS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. JUNE 11 IS President’s Night at the Community Pavilion and there is NO MEETING at W&J that day.
  2. JUNE 18 the Washington Wild Things with the use of the Washington Financial Party Box. These will be available from President Bill at the June 4 meeting. These were won in a Silent Auction to benefit DVSSP and Bill is donating them on a First Come Basis, free, as long as they last. 2 Ticket limit.
  3. Volunteers for school awards ceremonies are needed for:
    1. Avella for May 30 (includes a dinner),
    2. Trinity May 29 (thank you Kathy Sabol),
    3. Washington June 3 (thank you John Hopper),
    4. McGuffey June 5.                                                 Details are available contact Bill or Pres. Elect Andy Goudy.
    5. Ft Cherry and Burgettstown have already had their awards programs and President Bill covered those.
  4. Foundation Chair Dave Hart says forms are available for anyone that would like to be “billed directly” by the Rotary Foundation please see DAVE.
  5. June 13 at 2:30 pm  we will veiw the changing of the flag ceremony at the Patriot’s Pavilion just prior to the Farmer’s Market. Thank you again to Joe Marshfor again organizing the event and let’s stay around for the Farmer’s Market or stop in at Emerald Valley….Susan Priest tells us they have the BEST ice cream!

HAPPY DOLLAR$$$$$$$

  • Susan Price: happy to honor the recipients today…”they are our future.”
  • Joe Manning: happy to congratulate our scholars and to see his neighbor among them.
  • Bill Mesler: happy $$$ to recognize his wife’s success with her Dance School SKM and glad the recital is behind them.
  • Susan Priest: happy with a new car (Honda FIT), much more comfortable than the OLD car!!
  • John Hopper: threw in an extra $$ to recognize both the recipients AND their parents and honored to have lunch with two of them.
  • Mike Pecosh: happy to see his neighbor, Trinity Guidance Counselor, Cindy Garda
  • Ken Baker: happy as usual to promote the Sunday Jazz Brunch at the President’s Pub and they continue to be very popular.
  • Jim Uram: happy to recognize ALL VETERANS during this week of Memorial Day.
  • President Bill then went to the parents for HAPPY DOLLAR statements at no charge…Just HAPPY
 
4—WAY TEST LED BY THE NON WINNER TOM NORTHROP AND ALTHOUGH TOM NEVER SEEMS TO WIN THE 50/50 HE IS STILL VERY MUCH A WINNER AS A ROTARIAN!!
