We welcome Mike and are all looking forward to working with him on future projects.
FYI: on the way home I had an email from MIKE offering to work at Trivia Night…I guess he got the clue!! So glad to have him join us.
Might as well have fun and if YOU haven’t volunteered think about it. Yes, it is a Friday evening and yes you worked all week but this is FUN and FROCULARITY and BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED!!!!!

HAPPY $$$$$:

  • Susan Priest just happy to see the sunshine! Aren’t we all???
  • Lars Lange will be traveling out to Colorado to be with his Dad and to be a part of the dedication of a community gazebo in honor of his late Mother.
Their 2018 ANNUAL FAMILY EVENT WILL BE HELD SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH THRU FRIDAY, MARCH 2ND.
Lars is seeking donations of winter clothing to be taken to an event at 7-Springs sponsored by the Wounded Warrior Patrol (ski patrol), not the regular Wounded Warrior group.
Any questions please contact Lars at: larslange64@gmail.com  Winter sweaters, coats all gently worn and clean….
  • Jim Uram and brother Tom visited the Latrobe Rotary fundraiser, a cash bash, that brought in $50,000 and included a steak dinner and open bar….tickets were $250/person. Jim also was recently the program at the Charleroi Club which is a great place to do a makeup meeting at the Back Porch.
  • Phil Morrow glad to be back even though his arm was in a sling and he wanted to thank everyone for the cards, note and well wishes.
  • Bill Mesler gave $40 to celebrate the 40 years of Quality Quick. Congratulations Bill…a great business right in the heart of Washington.
  • Nan Sninsky leaving for Iceland on Friday but can’t make the Rotary meeting in Reykjavik as she flies out the morning of their meeting and flies in too late to catch the meeting when she arrives! Too bad as visiting a meeting in another country let along in the US is quite an eye opener!
  • Susan Price is just happy, believe it or not, that Bill Mesler still speaks to her?????
  • Tom Drewitz happy to see Phil back and again John Quale’s socks are something to behold!
  • Justin Dandoy explained his baseball tie and his love of the game…suitable to wear the tie with baseballs and bats on it as the pitchers and catchers have reported to Spring Traing. GO BUCS we hope….
  • Brandy Butler attended the auction at the Washington Fair Grounds, the good news but the bad news, spent way too much $$$. Sounds about right doesn’t it?
  • Bill West enjoyed Tom’s program on dentistry and we are so sad that it wasn’t a total “sell out”. Ha Ha
  • Dorothy Tecklenburg has met people who “want the answers” for Trivia night but that is all confidential information; Sabrina (daughter) still hoping for “her number one choice” for Graduate School although she can stay at Stanford!
  • Joe Piszczor happy for the success of Empty Bowl soup event. The committee worked very hard to pull this together and hopefully it will become an annual event.
  • Nancy Krajovic asked if she could give a Happy $$ even though not a member and of course we will take her money…Nancy is happy for the fact and grateful for having 2 healthy adult children which is everyone’s wish!

PROGRAM:March for Babies

Nancy Krajovic, State Finance Director for Columbia Gas of PA/MD presented a program as Chair of the March of Dimes in Washington County.
This is now known as March for Babies and they are having a March/Walk on May 19 at North Strabane Park.
Last year over 500 people joined to raise funds to save lives of infants in crisis often due to premature births. Premature birth is the #1 killer of newborns and now the mission of the March of Dimes is to change the statistic.
The mission of the March of Dimes was originally to battle Polio and provide support for families who struggled with the effects of Polio but as Nancy said Rotary has taken on that challenge and Polio is unheard of in this country and almost non-existent in the world.
The goal for 2018 is to raise $100,000 locally to support families now dealing with premature birth issues and to help educate people as to what can be done to prevent premature births.
We thank Nancy for such a wonderful and informative presentation and we wish her well and hope that she comes back another time just to have lunch and give us an update.
