The Rotary Club of Washington thanks Zonta for hosting the event and Cheryl Hopper (wife of Rotarian John Hopper) for planning the event and for Nancy Verderber for serving as master of ceremony for the meeting.
The Washington Joint Service Club annual awards luncheon was held today at the Rossin Center on the campus of W&J. The event was well attended with eight service organizations recognizing one of their own for their commitment to service.
Rotary was especially well represented as we recognized Rich Podgurski for his service to the community through Rotary. It was an opportunity to update the other service organizations on the restoration project on the Community Pavilion in Washington Park.
The restoration of the pavilion began during the Presidency of Joe Piszczor when he received a District Community Grant to replace the picnic tables at the Pavilion. Rich continued the progress and was recognized for his commitment to monitor the grants, LSA funding and to oversee each step in the restoration process. Hopefully we will be near completion in 2019 when President Bill’s term ends. Bill said, "It was an honor for me as President to present Rich with his honor for the dedicated efforts under his leadership".

Rotary Foundation  celebration

The District 7330 Rotary Foundation Dinner celebration was held November 10 at Nemacolin CC in Beallsville. The Washington Club was well represented in attendance in its financial support for the Foundation.
