INVOCATION:

Mike Pecosh

This week’s meeting was held off-site at the Doubletree Hotel on Racetrack Road due to a conflict at Washington and Jefferson and not being able to use the Ballroom.

RIVP Jennifer Jones

Today was a special event in that we were honored to host Rotary International Vice-President Jennifer Jones.
The Vice-President spent the past few days visiting various areas within District 7330.

Jennifer and her husband reside in Ontario, Canada and are owners of a media company.

Jennifer was introduced to the gathering of over 72 Rotarians by Past Rotary Foundation Trustee Stephanie Urchick of the Canonsburg-Houston-Southpointe Club.
Jennifer's  presentation dealt with the “State of Rotary” and Rotary as a “unique organization.” She said that there is a “mind set” within leadership and that a new strategic plan must be developed and implemented to continue to recognise the “uniqueness of Rotary” and carry it into the future of Rotary.
Membership is the key to success and must be expanded at all levels.
Jennifer also pointed out that today was the 30th anniversary of women in Rotary.

Jennifer with the assistance of Dave Hart recognized Rotarian Joe Manning for his level of giving to the Rotary Foundation. Congratulations to Joe receiving his Paul Harris from Jennifer and Dave.

The occasion was documented by a visiting Rotarian, Brian Schill of the Upper St Clair-Bethel Park Breakfast Club. Thank you Brian!
We were honored to have in attendance our District Governor, Pam Moore as well as a number of Past District Governors: Gwen Ridgley, Stephanie Urchick, Tom Drewitz, Thomas Uram and of course our hero Andrew Uram.

We are all so fortunate to have these wonderful resource specialists in our midst. We also had DGElect Steve Arnowitz and DGNominee Cherie’ Sears right there with all of us….GREAT!!

They Came from all over

Representatives from the following Rotary Clubs joined us for a great lunch and wonderful opportunity to renew old friendships, for fellowship, networking: ( did we mention a wonderful lunch?)
  • California,
  • Charleroi,
  • Waynesburg,
  • Canonsburg-Houston Southpointe,
  • Donora,
  • Upper St. Clair-Bethel Park,
  • Randolph North Carolina!

This was a great gathering of Rotarians and perhaps we should consider doing this again sometime soon??

The day was a great success and special thanks to Susan Price for organizing the event and Dave Moore for registration and collecting the checks!

So glad also that Brad Montgomery got to eat an entire lunch and did we mention how good the lunch was?
