HAPPY $$$:

  • MaryJo Podgurski happy for successful Washington’s Got Talent Show and for all volunteers and for Rotarians for “paying it forward” and the social media coverage (another great event in the Teen Outreach Program)
  • Rick Podgurski  happy that the overall Steelers Season was great although they didn’t beat the Patriots…fun season!
  • Tom Drewitz happy to report on the “State of the District” on Sunday and the need for all Clubs to increase membership. If membership in District 7330 does not increase within the next Rotary year will stand a great chance of being absorbed by District 7300 which is huge and something all need to consider. Yes, believe it or not this was a Happy $$ but it was meant to let members know how important it is to recruit additional members and that there IS such a thing as the State of District.
  • Susan Price happy the Club is going to reinstate the concept of a “Fireside Chat” on Wednesday February 8. See details
  • Bill Mesler also happy for Washington’s Got Talent and to let people know he shocked us by saying “his wife is leaving him” because she is going on a cruise without him.
  • John Tecklenburg happy to “raise the standards of the back table” by speaking and promoting the Washington Symphony concert on February 13 at 3:00pm and local talent will include Dan Baker.
  • Joe Gisoni happy to report he can finally reach his toes and after having back surgery last year this is a real triumph.
  • Susan Priest happy to report 46 lbs and we know what that means..Great job and it all started last year with the challenge!
  • Lynn Galluze just happy to have a third grandchild and also happy to be a part of a great Rotary Club.
  • Christy Beam Rowing happy to have an “addition” to the family, a new puppy Abigail Adams and to have united her with George Washington!

  • President Joe Piszczor  is looking for ideas to honor the 100th Birthday of the Foundation…thoughts?
  • February 8 our Fireside Chat at Liberty Pole Distillery (Maiden Street) at 5:30. Come after work, be re-introduced to Rotary, bring a potential member and socialize for an hour, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
  • February 14 Rotary lunch at the Doubletree Hotel , cost of $20 (members $8.00 at the door). We were selected to host Rotary International Vice-President Jennifer Jones of Ontario Canada (a great honor for the Club). Click here for more...Jennifer Jones
  • February 21 Board Meeting
  • March 3 TRIVIA NIGHT – Much More to Come!

President Elect Rich Podgurski updated the Club on funding and progress being made on the renovation of the Washington Park Pavilion. Our goal is to complete the project by June, 2018 at an estimated cost of $800,000. Funding options were given by Rich. Support by community, city government, club members and a varied public relations campaign is needed. This is to include Social Media…Can We Do It?....YES WE CAN!!!

There will be a great deal of this information being shared in the months to come.
