Non-winner but always happy Sue Priest

Chris Solvesky, Manager of the SAM’s Club former Rotarian and guest of Dave Hart

  1. Thank you to all volunteers who were not deterred and did “work” the Christmas Parade. You are all to be commended as it was well attended and thankfully all participants and volunteers survived.
  2. December 12 meeting in the Ballroom with the Washington Chorale being the program
  3. December 19 the Club Christmas Party at Lone Pine. If you haven’t made a reservation get in touch and make a reservation – Join us and celebrate.

HAPPY $$$$$:

  • Mike Pecosh had so much fun with his new experience as a volunteer he could hardly describe it and had only one minor incident…he loved being traffic control with a walkie talkie and big orange flashlight and oh yes…Mike couldn’t be missed in his Rotarian at Work t-shirt. Great work Mike, we understand there is a request in for you for 2018
  • Joe Marsh happy to be going to Wake Forest for his daughter’s graduation and the best news is she has earned a Master’s Degree and better news “she has a job”. All worth $5 and we’re glad Joe has that much left after all of the tuition he has paid through the years…well worth it and Congratulation to your entire family!
  • John Hopper had a happy dollar just because Mike Pecosh is so very happy!
  • Tom Drewitz happy for the parade, MC Joe P and the great attendance
  • Dorothy Tecklenburg worried that Santa was not coming in time but finally made it as did Mrs Claus
  • Brandi Butler happy so thrilled she and Shane found a house, made a bid, it was accepted all in a 3 day time frame. The closing is hopefully before Christmas and it will become their home in Bentleyville.
  • Nan Sninsky happy to report Joe P did a great job as the Parade MC
  • Joe Piszczor felt it great to fill in for Tom Drewitz and finally got that elusive deer they were tracking for only 5 years. Persistence paid off for Joe and apparently the deer got tired of hide and go seek.
  • Susan Priest not only happy but thrilled with the WATFCU and the great tellers who are pleasant and call you by name; also happy the Club will have vocal music next week and it will be a preview of the upcoming concert and she just happens to have some tickets $10
  • Karen Reese had a great trip to Texas and had the opportunity to spend time with her brother
  • Tom Northrop inside eating chili the night of the parade??? Sorry we missed your exact happy dollar but hoping you will forgive…that’s why she doesn’t work as a news reporter!
  • Ken Baker great party at the President’s Pub; former member Amy Manko opened a shop in space next to the Pub where she is selling the wool from her farm; next week a Farm to Table Brunch will be held from 11-3 with the fresh eggs and lamb from Amy’s farm. Son Drew is responsible for the “farming” which for those of you who remember…he was in Middle School when we got to know him…Happy for all of them!
  • Kathy Sabol shared a happy reminder that March 9 and the Trivia Contest will be here before you know it and should you see any great bargains for donations or wish to regift something as a Ticket (Chinese) Auction item don’t be afraid as all hand outs are happily accepted and beautifully displayed!
  • Bob Wicker was happy to report the parade DID go off without major incident, no participants were lost, Santa and Mrs got out of a car and he was watching for them and oh yes MIKE you did a great job!

PROGRAM: Joe Piszczor Rotary News

Past President Joe Piszczor has become part of District 7330 Leadership and is the Chairman of the PR/Public Image team. Joe explained due to changing demographics worldwide the Rotary Zones will be merging.
For us the first step will probably be a merge of District 7330 and District 7300 (Pittsburgh/Allegheny area). Along with this there will be arealignment of Zones and we will be part of a different Zone, one that runs down the East coast.
Joe gave many ideas and referenced a number of resources available through the RI website and they are there for all to use to promote the concept of Rotary and its activities both locally, Zone and worldwide.
We should all endeavor to promote membership and recognize publicly the activities of Rotary….ALL activities of Rotary.

In the Season of Giving and Service to others hoping you will remember:
  1. Don't forget about the Bell ringing for the Salvation Army at the Giant Eagle on Saturday. See the bottom of the page for your time committment.
  2. Toys for Tots
  3. Lemoyne Center needs help with donations of gifts for all ages, anything from A to Z and VOLUNTEERS to help with setup on December 15 and actually “giving” on December 16. Members were very generous with this initiative last year. Christmas and Kids…what a blessing!
We thank Dave Hart for bringing Chris Solvesky to our meeting. Chris is a former Rotarian and is from Youngstown Ohio to our SAM’s Club.
With the help from Dave, Chris is willing to work with Dave on forms and paperwork to possibly receive a donation/grant for the Pavilion Project.
Hoping you will all help to make Chris welcome when he returns to our meeting!
